They were called either Arab or Persian greyhounds even in India. Vero Kemball Shaw in his book "Encyclopaedia of the kennel: ..." published in 1913 writes this about Rampur Hound,"Some excellent specimens of this breed were brought home by his Majesty King Edward on his return from his tour of India in 1876".
