Meeting Chas

Last Saturday I was finally able to meet Chas Clifton face to face at a book signing here in Denver for his new work, Her Hidden Children. Chas of course, lives just down the road in Pueblo, and is an estimable member blogger of our community here.

After the event we were able to duck out for a quick beer and delightful, stimulating talk on Colorado archaeology, oggam inscriptions, local fishing, the Alta Mira Press, archaeoastronomy, and the academic life. To my great regret, our conversation was curtailed by a prior social committment I had, but I look forward to many more talks with Chas now that we are living in the same neighborhood.

Actually, I live at an undisclosed location in a county west of Pueblo.

But I defraud the taxpayers of Colorado by pretending to teach in Pueblo.

Wow. I would love to meet for a beer after my book signing however

a) I haven't got it published- yet

b) I'm sorry but I won't be able to discuss archeoastronomy or academic life...unless I bring my boy along...we can talk about beer and cool old stuff hidden in rocks and things like that.

Whaddaya think?

Heidi, after your first book signing we'll go get a beer and talk about anything YOU want!

I'm glad I came back to check comments on this one...

I have to make sure I can talk somebody into scheduling stops in Colorado and New Mexico. Not sure yet how this all works. I have to find these things out, don't I?
