"Stuff is eaten by dogs, broken by family and friends, sanded down by the wind, frozen by the mountains, lost by the prairie, burnt off by the sun, washed away by the rain. So you are left with dogs, family, friends, sun, rain, wind, prairie and mountains. What more do you want?"

Wish List Link
Almost forgot-- someone suggested I link to my Amazon Wish List. If nothing else it and its commentaries might give you an idea where the blog may go next.
That's a good wish list to have. I just started reading the River Rat books. Having grown up in NE Iowa and living in Winona, MN for 10 years, it makes me homesick.
Here is an interesting link to the eagle came outside of Decorah, by the trout stream. The "hen" is on the nest.

There is a dead rabbit in the nest and could hear a mourning dove cooing.
The eggs should hatch in a couple of days.
Speaking of doves - the Iowa legislature just passed a law to allow dove hunting, much to the displeasure of bleeding hearts and anti-hunters.
Cheers,
John
Hey, I didn't see "Hounds In The Hills" by Briggs on yer list. Must be an oversight....L.B.
It is on my High Lonesome Books Wish list (;-)
The first chick is hatched and the mama eagle is ripping the guts out of the rabbit and feeding it.
