Radio

An interview with Guy de la Valdene, on The Fragrance of Grass, in which among many other things he says good things about writing by me, Joe Hutto, and Joel Vance, as well as his better- known hunting friends McGuane and Harrison. A cheerful reminder of why his book is so good...

I heard the interview last week, and nodded at the bouquet toss to you. After reading your comments a few months ago about Fragrance, and on a non-hunting friend's glowing appraisal of it, I chain-read it, For a Handful of Feathers and Making Game; all beautifully written. What an amazing, talented group in his circle of friends--a shotgun toting, fly-rodding edition of the Algonquin Round Table.

Except maybe even more talented?

I can only imagine an insult duel (40 paces) between Jim Harrison and Dorothy Parker...
