"Stuff is eaten by dogs, broken by family and friends, sanded down by the wind, frozen by the mountains, lost by the prairie, burnt off by the sun, washed away by the rain. So you are left with dogs, family, friends, sun, rain, wind, prairie and mountains. What more do you want?"

mw wife and i have a chihuahua that rules our house. we enjoy him so much that every march when tucson has their great "festival of the books" on the u of a campus, we take him both days. he rides in a cloth grocery bag and stays quiet even when we sneak him into the author lectures/panels. at nite we stay in a local b&b that accepts pets. hope to see you there next year steve! (mostly southwestern authors)
