"Stuff is eaten by dogs, broken by family and friends, sanded down by the wind, frozen by the mountains, lost by the prairie, burnt off by the sun, washed away by the rain. So you are left with dogs, family, friends, sun, rain, wind, prairie and mountains. What more do you want?"

Most Unlikely Career Path
Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, the brilliant guitarist who gave the pre-jazz version of Steely Dan (still in all incarnations my favorite Seventies band) its edge, is now a sought- after analyst on terrorism and defense. And he is self- taught!
From what album to you date the end of the "pre-jazz" Steely Dan? "Aja" has always been my favorite
ReplyDeleteI'm reading the archives (:-)
ReplyDeleteThe break I think is between Pretzel Logic and Katy Lied, but I love them all. It's just that with Baxter they were more "Rock".
Aja (the song) and Here at the Western World on the same album are both favorites and William Gibson stories in miniature.
