Hi Stephen,
Lovely Grant sidelever. Was it actioned by E C Hodges? He was my gt gt grandfather and I'm making a gunlist. If it was can you mention the bore and serial number?

On the action flats/bar or on the standing breech above the striker pins. Stamped 'ECH' or 'E Hodges' or 'Hodges patent'. I have a 1881-83, gun by my ancestor in his own name that is exactly the same as your 1889 Grant. Is there a way to send you a picture or post one?

I can't see any initials there at all, and neither face is worn.

I'd love to see your gun, and send more of mine. My Email is "ebodio-at-gilanet- dot- com"
