"Stuff is eaten by dogs, broken by family and friends, sanded down by the wind, frozen by the mountains, lost by the prairie, burnt off by the sun, washed away by the rain. So you are left with dogs, family, friends, sun, rain, wind, prairie and mountains. What more do you want?" Federico Calboli

Thank you for posting these articles. White is too little remembered or appreciated. "Didn't he write "Camelot?" a friend asked. Definitely not! I replied by quoting Noel Coward's critique: "Longer than 'Parsifal' and not half so funny". You might also point out the number of TH White fans who did NOT become falconers because of "The Goshawk". I was 13 when I first read it, but was mature enough to know I wanted nothing to do with such masochism. And since it was the only book about falconry around at the time, how was I to know otherwise? But I stuck with him as a writer.
