You didn't ask for a caption on this one, but yer gonna get one anyway: "Upon opening an insurance office in Kyrghistan, agent Smith visited a local village in hopes of raising payment rates in regard to the residents keeping exotic and dangerous animals on the premises. Agent Smith has not been heard from since...."....L.B.
howdy tim, or other viewer, could you offer a description of what type of canines are in the foto, as well as what species of raptors we're viewing? that canine on what appears to be a leash has the looks of an Australian cattle dog, pointed ears and merle looking coat?
L. B. here--I thought those canines were an adult wolf and cub. Hence my "caption". Looks like the wolf has it's mouth tied shut, in fact. Watch the video a few posts back, Anon., to see HOW that would be likely!....L.B.
Wolf was my idea too. Those are Kazakhs in old- fashioned clothes somewhere in the south near mts I think, could be present day Kyr or Kaz Stan. Tim had no data for it.
....and lest any of ye think I just pulled that caption idea from a bizarre imagination, something very like this actually happened to me about a year(or was it two?) ago--this nice little old man(SOOOO polite and friendly!), an insurance inspector, came to check my premises--in other words, look for ways to jack up my payments! He was sore outta luck with my peasant arse, if he hoped to see expensive home improvements raising the value of my property! All he had to try and exploit was my plethora of dogs--but he asked almost no questions about them(I woulda talked his ear off if he had, and he might then had some idea of who he was dealing with on the canine subject), but lo and behold, I get a notice CANCELLING my insurance soon afterward, for harboring a DANGEROUS "wolf-hybrid" and a Pit Bull! The "Pit Bull" was my freakin' WEIMARANER, which I had AKC papers on, so I could prove otherwise quite handily and quickly on that account(things like this are about all I consider AKC papers useful for, and of course such registration is not hard for the unscrupulous to fake, if they care too!) My rescued Siberian Husky(the "wolf hybrid") was a bit harder to prove, even though I had the accused animal's brother as well, who was NOT identified as such by this insurance "expert"! Of course I COULD get my insurance back(that's a purposeful scare tactic--no way do they ACTUALLY want to cancel your insurance!), BUT, I'd have to pay an EXORBITANT fee, of course! Except this crook picked probably THE WORST person alive on this continent to try this crap on--I soon had affidavits from wolf and wolf hybrid experts all over the country(including the ZOO where I work with wolves! The agent had no idea I was a zookeeper either!), and I also threatened to take them to court with my many, many REAL expert witnesses, and after a bit, the insurance company backed down and dropped the issue and left me alone. Ironically, I DID used to have wolf hybrids many years ago! Long before they became insurance "liabilities", and in totally different, far less civilized circumstances! Anyway, I was projecting my own desired fantasy on this photo....L.B.
Anon also asked what species of raptors we're viewing. The iconoclast to the right of the guy holding the wolf's tether looks to have a gos on his fist, the others are eagles.
Wonderful pic- it's engrossing to let your imagination ramble.
I am embarrassed to say I missed the Gos (when I said so just now Libby put her finger on it and said "There").
Kazakhs and Kyrgiz fly Goldens, Goshawks, and Sakers, and sometimes Red Naped Shahins (Lashyns).
