Training

Very busy and a bit under the weather, so expect photos and no long text. Here are pics of Daniel's recent training. Call me provincial-- I didn't know they had places like that in California.

Whereabouts in California? I think large swaths of the state are rather like that, but only in spring before all that grass turns to the famous "golden rolling hills."

Dunnigan-- I have not plotted it on the map, but he says 1 1/2 hour's drive NE of his wine country place.

Central Valley north of Sacramento, which is actually precisely what I was guessing.

The first time I was in California in the spring I was shocked at how green it was. Reminds me of the Flint Hills in Kansas.

In a normal year for rainfall, it is green from first rains in September-October through last rains sometime in May. Then the golden look of the oak savanna grasslands returns.

California is a beautiful place. Mountains, deserts, ocean, etc. Great hunting, camping, hiking, and fishing. The vast majority of the state is very much NOT like LA or San Francisco urban areas, despite what you may see on TV. Sadly, the dorks in Sacramento are energetically doing their very best to ruin this place...
