An 8lb 16 bore. A Continental fowling piece that found it's way to the prairie.
Very nice and worthy of restoration.

Nice stuff Steve and worthy of restoration
Steve, nice work on the old Elsies. Gil
Wow -- do you do your own restoration?
Josh-- I am learning from retired BLM worker and fine gunsmith John Besse here in town. I have been refinishing stocks for years but now am learning to do mechanical work too.
We have aso learned how to reproduce fine Damascus brown finish, obvious on this 16. Try Gerry Cox's Hits & Misses, and the YouTubes that Brownells puts out, which will generate plenty of ideas!
Really interesting! It’s great to have historic and expensive gun collection which makes us the envy of other sportsmen and history buffs.
