Stephen, I've wandered over here from Gerard's. I don't know if you're aware of this, but I believe William F. Buckley's yacht was named Querencia. The explanation I recall is that it was the portion of the bull fighting ring staked out by the bull as his comfort zone.

BTW, You MUST be a Guy Clark fan. If not, why not?

I did know that. The late Betsy Huntington, (along with New Mexico the subject of my book Querencia, for which the blog is named), was a fan of his sailing books, and the epigraph of the book is from WFB, saying what you just did. That safety is illusory as well as the necessity of a "heart's home" are two themes I am attracted to...

HUGE Guy Clark fan since the old days--first I heard him was around "Rita Ballou", and one of my favorites of all time is Dublin Blues.

Nice sentiment. That looks like a NMMI sticker elsewhere on the bumper. Long time since I've seen one of those.

Yep-- meant to say also a Yoga instructor whose kid goes to NM Military Institute in Roswell.
