"Stuff is eaten by dogs, broken by family and friends, sanded down by the wind, frozen by the mountains, lost by the prairie, burnt off by the sun, washed away by the rain. So you are left with dogs, family, friends, sun, rain, wind, prairie and mountains. What more do you want?"

Most Beautiful Pigeon?
Annie D sent an anonymous web mail of over- the- top- birds. One is of my favorite wild pigeon, the Nicobar (Caloenas nicobarica) of the east Indies. I'd be glad to credit it--?
Reminds me of the joke about the guy that was caught poaching, then eating a Bald Eagle(those of you who have heard this old joke, please bear with me....) He pleaded guilty without the least sign of remorse, and accepted his heavy fine stoically. The Judge's curiousity was aroused, and he just had to ask the fellow, "I don't mean to seem callous, but I am curious; just what does Bald Eagle taste like?" "Well yer honor" said the defendant "It's kinda hard to describe. Something like between a Whooping Crane and a California Condor!!"....L.B.

Wow - beautiful! But how does it taste?
It IS eaten! (;-)
Well, in that case, I'd love to photograph its feathers. Gorgeous!

At one time the punch line of that joke was "Tastes a little like Spotted Owl". Times change, tastes change.
I am looking for a pair of Nicobars ... Anyone have a pair for sale ??? Thx - David
